LaTordicella is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by a forest of pine trees.
The house ia small and cosy, fully restored in the style of the family houses made of stones, built in the area in the 18th Century.
From the garden you can have a breathtaking view of the valley below and the ruins of a medieval watchtower. Sunsets from this point of view can be unforgettable.
The house is 6 km from Castel del Rio and 900 meters from the nearest house, so you can enjoy your privacy but you are not in the middle of nothing.
Castel del Rio is a medieval town with a Castle, the famous Bridge of the Alidosi and the War Museum. Many events take place in Castel del Rio, like the Medieval Festival in Summer or the Chestnuts Festival in October.
Castel del Rio lies in the Santerno Valley. In Summer you can have a bath in the Santerno River and have some food and drink at the bar or in the picnic area.
Other interesting sites in the area are the Church of Valmaggiore (visited by Pope Julius II in 1506), Monte Battaglia (place of a bloody battle in World War II), the German Cemetery at the Futa Pass, the ruins of Cantagallo.
La Tordicella can be reached in just 35 minutes from the motorway A14 – exit of Imola.
